Deloitte has appointed Richard Kibble as partner in its financial services team. In this role Kibble will focus on banking strategy and transformation and support the firm’s banking clients through various digital transformation projects.
Kibble joins from the RBS ExCo and Board, where he held the role of strategy and corporate finance director for five years. He brings over 25 years of strategy experience and expertise on a range of topics including digital strategy, innovation and regulation.
James O’Riordan, head of UK financial services at Deloitte, said: “Richard’s extensive experience in both business strategy and consultancy will complement the transformation work we are already conducting with our banking clients, and lead the development of future projects.”
Commented on the rising importance of FinTech, O’Riordan said: “Future banks and the way in which their customers use them will be very different to today. Increasing adoption of FinTech and the rise of non-banks will continue to challenge banking models and banks themselves recognise the need to future-proof their business models.”
Richard Kibble added: “I look forward to joining a market leading financial services team and using my past banking experience as both strategic advisor and business consultant.”
“With Open Banking regulation on the horizon, there are a great number of opportunities for banks and FinTechs. Future banking is likely to be hugely collaborative as a result, and I look forward to working with Deloitte’s clients to formulate and execute their response to this industry inflexion point.”
Earlier this year Deloitte’s global revenues were reported at $38.8bn. The firm also suffered a cyber-attack last month that compromised client information.
